Our Legacy of Turmeric Cultivation

Our family legacy includes inventing a proprietary milling process for fresh, pure organic turmeric. Indian turmeric is considered to be be the best in the world.

Turmeric is the rhizome of the Curcuma longa plant, which belongs to the ginger family. Native to tropical South Asia, turmeric has been used in Ayurvedic medicine and even as a component in religious ceremonies for thousands of years.

Also known as “Indian Saffron”, turmeric gives curry its bright yellow color. Today turmeric is being studied for the beneficial compounds it contains, called curcuminoids. The most promising is believed to be curcumin, which gives turmeric its yellow color. The subject of thousands of studies, curcumin has been shown to have powerful anti-inflammatory properties and shows promise in combatting Alzheimer’s and other diseases, including cancer.
